🗳️ Instructions on the Election of New Representatives to the University Council

  1. The election of new representatives to the University Council at Academic Year 2025 is to be held in accordance with Article 12 of the Charter of I-Shou University, and the election of teacher representatives is conducted in accordance with the Regulations for the Election of Teacher Representatives to University Council at I-Shou University.
  2. The number of eligible voters for the election of teacher representatives and staff & technician representatives to the University Council, respectively, at Academic Year 2025 is calculated based on the data as of August 1, 2025 provided by the Office of Human Resources. The following will not be listed as candidates for the position of teacher representative, but have the right to vote: ex-officio representatives; faculty members who a) pursue further studies with pay and position retained, b) take unpaid leave with position preservation, c) take sabbatical leave, d) are temporarily transferred to another school/organization, and e) have failed the faculty evaluation in Academic Year 2024; and full-time faculty members who are former presidents or vice presidents of the University and have applied to the Office of Secretariat for not being listed as candidates for the position of teacher representative. Please note that project faculty members and clinical teachers have no right to vote or be voted for.
  3. The number of teacher representatives to the University Council at Academic Year 2025 is 29, and several candidates should be placed on the waiting list. Please refer to the table below for the number of teacher representatives to be elected from respective electoral units, and each full-time faculty member can vote for as many candidates as shown in the table below depending on which electoral unit he/she belongs to. For example, a full-time faculty member of the Department of Information Management can vote for a maximum of five candidates, while a full-time faculty member of the Department of Applied Japanese can vote for a maximum of three candidates.

    The total number of faculty representatives is 29 (at least 20 of whom must be professors or associate professors)
  5. The number of staff & technician representatives (including military training instructors and custodians, but excluding contract staffers and research assistants) to the University Council at Academic Year 2025 is 2, and each full-time staffer and technician (including military training instructors and custodians, but excluding contract staffers and research assistants) can vote for two candidates at most.
  6. Voting Period: From now on until Wednesday, September 7, 2025, 23 p.m
